A new Vascular and Endovascular Surgical Practice based in Dayton, Ohio. The Center was founded for the diagnosis and treatment of the entire spectrum of Arterial and Venous diseases.
What makes our center different? We diagnose and treat all aspects of vascular surgery including Abdominal aortic aneurysms, carotid disease, PAD, venous disease, dialysis access, and maintenance, among others. We are the only Vascular Surgical practice in the area to focus on limb salvage and wound care. Unfortunately, there are a lot of needless amputations in the Dayton area. We offer minimally invasive outpatient care using endovascular techniques, open surgical repair when appropriate, and outstanding medical management of vascular diseases.
We are an independent practice, which makes us flexible and responsive by going to all area and regional hospitals and directing care close to where the patients are and our various locations mean we bring the care close to the patient and their families.
We work closely with all the primary care practices, podiatrists, family doctors, wound care centers to offer multi-disciplinary, total care for our patients. Teamwork and close collaboration are the keys and our relationships with our referring physicians are the hallmark of our practice. While our focus is on the outpatient care of most vascular diseases in the comfort of our office suites, we also provide coverage for inpatient vascular services at all local and regional hospitals, so that you are always followed closely by us no matter where you are in the area.

Shankar M. Sundaram, MD, FACS has dedicated his life to the treatment of cardiovascular diseases. He has extensively trained for over 10 years in prestigious training centers throughout the United States, and is one of the few surgeons who has obtained triple board certification in General Surgery, Cardiothoracic Surgery, and Vascular Surgery. He has been in practice for over 17 years, and has an outstanding record of successful surgeries and interventions.
Dr. Sundaram has always continued to be in the forefront of advances in vascular diseases and incorporates all the latest techniques in his practice. He has developed specific new techniques in the treatments of vascular disease and never rests from a search to improve the ways to make the care of the vascular patient more efficient, less invasive, and more thorough and successful.
Over the past 5 years, Dr. Sundaram has focused on the issue of limb salvage and wound care and minimally invasive and outpatient treatments for these disorders. He has performed thousands of these procedures in this time frame and is known as an expert in peripheral
arterial atherectomy, carotid surgery, aneurysm surgery, and advanced venous interventions, such as chronic venous obstructions and varicose veins. He also performs many procedures for patients with dialysis needs. The goal in our practice is to limit and avoid amputations and
limb loss and let patients have a productive and fulfilling and independent life.
Dr. Sundaram recently moved to the Dayton area, and has enjoyed meeting all the wonderful new people in our city and is eager to help and provide the best vascular surgical and interventional care in the region. Dr. Sundaram lives in Dayton with his wife and three young children, and in his limited spare time enjoys hiking, the outdoors, and cooking.
